About

Mattie Overton PT, DPT is a passionate physical therapist who has been dedicated to helping patients live their best lives for over 15 years. She believes the three-pronged approach of evidence-based practice is critical to making a positive and lasting impact and does everything in her power to utilize up-to-date research, her clinical expertise, and the patient's input to do so. She does this by first conducting a thorough investigation of the patient's past and current medical history, present (dys)function, future goals, and patient opinion. She then collaborates with the patient to form a personalized course of action to help them achieve their goals and lay a lifelong foundation of wellness. Dr. Overton is happy to collaborate with any other providers relevant to patient care and welcomes interprofessional communication so nothing important falls through the cracks or gets lost in translation.

Dr. Overton is excited to offer the unique opportunity of meeting patients at their preferred location or welcoming them to her clinic, ensuring that her one-on-one care is both convenient and personalized. Her commitment to education and empowerment guides each patient towards optimal physical health and well-being, making her an ideal partner in your journey to wellness. Whether in pain, dizzy, deconditioned, stiff, off-balance, or dealing with incontinence, constipation, or other pelvic floor issues, Dr. Overton is comitted to helping her patients improve their quality of life, one session at a time.

I've been seeing Dr. Mattie Overton for over 2 years now. She has been a wonderful addition to my health care team. Her ability to determine the cause of my pain, and then to teach me how to care for myself, is exactly what I want from a Physical Therapist. As an older woman, I value having someone so caring and knowledgeable to turn to.

Seeing Mattie in Durham has been excellent and she’s always able to help give me feedback and help me with my ever-changing aches and pains from previous injuries/surgeries. Highly recommend Mattie to anybody seeking a compassionate down to earth therapist who will do the research to ease the burden of easing your pain!
