About

Audrey Chien, PT, DPT, MS, ATC is passionate about access to physical therapy care and the patient's choice for the best physical therapist to suit their needs. After navigating and working in several highly-touted medical networks in the USA and EU, she saw many cracks in these systems which could be better structured for the benefit of the patient.

These cracks, not limited to: difficulty with finding adequate physical therapy expertise regarding prosthetic and limb loss rehabilitation, lack of follow-up rehabilitation care after amputation, inefficiencies with prosthetist/orthotist communication with physical therapists for optimal patient management, lack of access and direction to adaptive training and sports for leisure, and difficulty with access to physical therapy facilities due to securing transportation. All of the above listed - and more - which prevented and delayed crucial steps in her patients' rehabilitation journies.

As a MovementX provider, she is now able to increase your access to physical therapy care by being completely mobile - allowing her to provide care at convenient locations for you. Depending on your needs, she will work with you inside your house, at your workplace, at your gym, at your prosthetist's office, and beyond. The possibilities are endless! She draws on her experience in a wide variety of clinical settings in order to be creative with the space which you will be working in, as well as bringing the equipment necessary for your session.

Whether it's prosthetic training and education, injury prevention, injury rehabilitation, return to performance and sports, coordination of prosthetic care, or maintenance care; she is ready to begin or continue your rehabilitation and performance journey with you.

Audrey Chien, PT, DPT, MS, ATC works and collaborates with a wide variety of people, from orthopaedic to neurological and oncological, and from pediatric to geriatric populations. Fun Facts

Move well, be well. As an active individual since childhood, movement and optimization of such have always been at the core of my life, even leading me to pursue humanitarian projects and roles overseas.

My love of movement and performance began at a young age, swimming competitively since 5 years old. I was then introduced to water polo at age 12, and have been competing since then, my playing career culminating as an NCAA Division 1 athlete at Loyola Marymount University. I am active in the masters' water polo community in the DMV area, and enjoy helping out with the local youth water polo clubs.

As physical therapists, we have the unique skillset to acutely affect a person's quality of life, and work with them to live their best life possible after injury or diagnosis of a condition. After graduating with a degree in Athletic Training, I finally had the opportunity to volunteer overseas for a search and rescue group which aided in relief efforts for the continued refugee crisis on Lesvos, Greece. We operated a mobile medical clinic in the refugee camps there, which exposed me to a wide variety of patients. While they all left a large imprint on me, the limb loss patients struck me as some of the most amazing and resilient people, as even without expert care, they found cause to keep thriving. From then on, I needed to know how to best serve these patients and beyond. This led me to pursue my DPT, achieving my goal of being able to work with this awesome population.

As technology changes and advances, I know that I am not done learning, which is another thing I love most about physical therapy, and about life! There is always something to learn about the field, about myself, and my patients!
