We are both a healthcare and a technology company. Our model of mobile, on-call physical therapy care gives patients the opportunity to obtain immediate, high-quality aid at any moment of pain or vulnerability. It allows our providers to break free of brick and mortar clinic walls and treat patients where they need it most, while providing schedule flexibility and financial stability. We leverage our technology to empower this interaction starting from matching the patient to provider, messaging with a provider, booking a session, paying, submitting to insurance, and so on.

Customer Success Intern

Learn the the ins and outs of teamwork, healthcare innovation, and business operations.

Time Commitment: 3 to 5 hours per week.

Term: 6 months starting May 1st, 2019

Compensation: Unpaid educational internship

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Patient Onboarding:
    • Perform outreach to new patients who sign-up on the platform to aid onboarding processes, session scheduling, or to delegate questions to the right team member/provider.
    • Perform outreach to event and workshop attendees to aid in conversion from attendee to patient sign up.
  • Customer Support:
    • SmallChat Support: Respond, as able, to live customer inquiries on the website.
    • Email Support: Respond to and delegate online inquiries through info@movement-x.com email address.
  • Accounts Management:
    • Insurance Verification: empower patients to understand the cost of therapy and coordinate inquiries about Out of Network benefits.
    • Payment Processing: monitor transactions and aid patients to update payment information in the case of failed charges.
    • Care Coordination: manage e-fax and coordinate operations for incoming referrals, authorizations, and chart-notes.
  • Customer Discovery:
    • Perform periodic phone calls to patients to collect feedback on their experience with MovementX and ways in which we can further engage them.

Social Media Marketing Intern

MovementX is looking for a passionate and hard-working intern who wants to grow a brand that is working to help more people move and live their best.

Time Commitment: 3 to 5 hours per week.

Term: 6 to 12 months starting May 1st, 2019

Compensation: Unpaid educational internship

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Social Media Management:
    • Work directly with Chief Marketing Officer to execute strategic marketing plan across MovementX online and social media channels.
    • Perform outreach to online communities to explore lead generation.
    • Engage and collaborate with other social media accounts.
    • Create evidence-based educational content.
    • Assist in the creation of written content, print marketing materials, email automation, statistical research, and/or contract agreements.
    • Respond to all messages and engagement across social media platforms as possible within 24 hours.
    • Review metrics across social media platforms to monitor and develop ideas to maximize growth.
    • Work with Chief Marketing Officer to log creative content and patient stories for use in promotional material.

Junior Back End Developer

Work to design and develop back end solutions for a healthcare web platform.

Time Commitment: 4 to 6 hours per week.

Term: Monthly starting in April.

Compensation: Negotiable monthly flat rate.

We use several technologies that are relevant in modern web development. In addition, since we're a small team your work will have tremendous impact on the product.

  • Work from whereever you want, whenever you want (although we do have an office in Portland, OR).

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Development:
    • Code back end solutions for new and iterative features using Django (Python) and SQL.
    • Although you won't often work on the front end, there will be opportunities to use Bootstrap, SCSS, jQuery, and HTML.
    • Apply problem solving skills to craft solutions.
  • Refactoring:
    • Apply great software development principles to improve existing code.
    • Assist with redesign work of outer and dashboard pages.
  • Code versioning:
    • Work within a GitHub repository using Git to develop on a branch.
    • Write comments and documentation to maintain the codebase's approachability.
  • Deployment:
    • There will be opportunity to assist with work within the production environment, which is hosted on AWS. This may include S3, database, log work, and more.
